'Night and day': Herz-Rose Park rededicated after $3.2M makeover

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Tribune Star) - Herz-Rose Park officially reopened Friday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by public officials, representatives of the Indiana Pacers and Ben Franklin Elementary School students on hand to help inaugurate the park’s new basketball court. The $3.2 million makeover, funded by American Rescue Plan Act money alongside local funding and a $100,000 grant from the Indiana Pacers Foundation, was compared to the park’s previous iteration by Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun.
